Coronavirus Update

6/26/2020

We love being back in the office doing what we do best... Keeping you safe and healthy is our top priority!

Thank you for your patience as we work to answer the hundreds of phone calls and messages each day--we are truly happy to hear from you!

As it is our goal to have everyone rescheduled appropriately with us, please reach out to us if you haven't yet heard back from us yet...we promise we are doing our best to get to everyone. And, as you might expect, it is a bit of an overwhelming task, even for our amazing front desk team!

A few updates:

-On the morning of your appointment, you will receive a text asking a series of COVID-related questions. Please answer the questions, sign, and hit submit.

-Please wear a mask when you are in our office.

-You no longer need to wait in your car. We still ask that you come to your appointment alone. Our reception room has been reconfigured to allow for guests to be seated at least 6 feet apart and will be disinfected regularly. (sorry, still no coffee or magazines, though!)

-Please use the hand sanitizer when you enter, and one of our team members will take your temperature prior to bringing you back into a treatment room.

-Please reschedule your appointment if you have had a fever, cough, difficulty breathing, or if you or someone in your household has tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 14 days.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

We are taking every precaution to keep you and our team safe. To that end, please be patient with us as we work to schedule our patients in a way consistent with CDC guidelines.  If you have an appointment with one of our hygienists during the month of June--please know that this appointment is not confirmed until you hear from our office. As you might expect, we have many people needing to be rescheduled and we are doing our best to give you the care and attention you have come to expect of us.  It is taking our team quite a while to personally reach out and appropriately schedule these visits.  If you have had to cancel your appointment with us in these past few months, please know that we haven't forgotten you--we WILL be reaching out to you in the coming weeks; and We are responding to emails and phone calls as soon as we are able. Thank you for your patience.

We will be open to patients starting May 25th with emergent or likely to become emergent conditions, including acute pain or discomfort. We anticipate opening to all patients at the start of Phase II per Massachusetts re-opening guidelines. The safety of our team and patients is our highest priority. Please read about the protocols we have set in place due to COVID-19.

SAFETY PROTOCOLS

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice. Our office follows infection control recomendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Occupational safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We've recently added the following safety protocols:

  • Screen Before and During Visit: we will ask patients standard questions when confirming their appointment and when checking-in (from your car).
  • Sanitization Checkpoint and Temperature Checks: Patients will use hand sanitizer immediately upon entering the office and have their temperature taken via a touchless forehead thermometer. We request all patients wear a mask- if you do not have one, we will provide you with a mask.
  • We are sanitizing all common areas and bathrooms numerous times throughout the day.
  • Sterilization and Operatory Preparation: As always, prior to and after seeing any patient, all equipment and work surfaces are properly disinfected. All instruments are sterilized.
  • Social Distancing: We are limitng the number of patients in the office at one time.

As the number of infections with coronavirus continues to rise across our communities, we write to update you on ongoing changes that may affect your care.

All recommendations are designed to keep you and our team needed to care for you as healthy as possible.

Based on the most recent recommendations from Governer Baker as well as the Massachusetts Dental Society, we anticipate returning for all routine and non-urgent dental care once the start of phase two is announced. Of course, this is fluid and subject to change. If you have an appointment with one of our hygienist between now and June 1st, we will be calling you to reschedule.

Please know we are here for you in these challenging times. We remain available for both emergency concerns and scheduling needs. For scheduling or non-emergent dental concerns, please call the office and press 1 to leave a message. We are checking messages multiple times a day. If you are having a dental emergency, you can always reach the dentist on call by contacting the office and pressing option 2.

Please follow us on facebook and Instagram for the latest updates.

We look forward to reuniting with our dental family as soon as possible. Stay safe and be well!

Our main focus has been and will continue to be patient safety and comfort.  We have NOT had a patient present at our office with coronavirus and our practice continues to follow the CDC's best practices for infection control.

Out of an abundance of caution during these turbulent times, we are aware we have a role to play in slowing the spread of the coronavirus and therefore will be available for our patients on a limited basis.

We are currently asking patients not to visit our office if experiencing symptoms, such as sore throat, fever, coughing, shortness of breath.  This also applies if you have traveled out of the country, or have been exposed to someone presumed to or known to be infected with the virus.

If you have a routine or non-urgent appointment scheduled, we will be postponing that reservation.  However, rest assured that if you are experiencing an emergency or discomfort, we are here for you and will continue to maintain the highest standards of infection prevention so we can safely care for you.

We will be in the office on a limited schedule starting Tuesday, March 17th. through April 6th 2020.

Please continue to check our website or social media platforms for updates.

We thank you for your flexibility during these unchartered times. Together we will overcome these obstacles.

Stay safe, stay healthy.  We look forward to seeing you all as soon as possible.
